Hollywood Movie Theater Woodridge Illinois

Hollywood Movie Theater Woodridge Illinois! Watching movies "online at no cost" is a type of practice. Even for movies who have not even visited DVD yet you will find sites everywhere where people can post movies to look at that people have secretly taken a video camera in to a movie showing and recorded the whole movie to their computer. After that it merely requires a search in the internet to get said movie. While the experience isn't same as paying for it and seeing it within the theater people who just want to view a movie can find myriads of places online to observe.

Even YouTube has places for fan videos that disguise themselves as places to view movies online. Piracy was once getting bootleg copies of VHS tapes and DVDs but now movie piracy could be even harder to manage thanks to the internet.

Financial Fallout

Movie piracy cost U.S. movie studios over 1.3 billion dollars in 2005 mostly because of the internet in an article posted to Torrent Freak. A 2004 survey conducted by the Motion Picture Associated of America claims those of 3,600 online users surveyed 24 percent said they'd downloaded a show online in accordance with an article in PC World. Surely the numbers has to be even more by now. Further, 69% with the respondents felt that downloading a film online had not been a "major concern."

More recently, downloading movies and streaming these to internet is so prevalent in Spain that that amount of DVD stores has dropped 25% since 2003 and the illegal pirating of movies is threatening to absolve the DVD industry in Spain altogether. Business Insider quoted Michael Lynton of Sony as saying "Spain is for the brink of will no longer being a viable niche for us." This was in late March of 2010.

The condition in Spain could be a Catch-22. If DVDs are no more sold in Spain then the industry for pirated copies of movies may more lucrative and pirates could get more creative plus much more ardent for that product. Just like making drugs illegal the demand won't vanish entirely so prices will spike as well as an entire underground community may develop and things may get more out of control.

Perhaps another excuse for piracy aside from not spending money on expensive movie tickets is spoofed with this piece on Business Insider. Like movies in the theater, DVDs now have previews, trailers, and advertising to them. When you can watch a pirated copy without having ads that simply simply gets to the movie without 10 minutes worth of advertising, probably the feeling of apathy in your consumerist contemporary society is reaching a breaking point.

Anti-Piracy Measures

France and Britain are in the lead in anti-piracy measures. In a New York Times article in March of 2010, Parliament is on the verge of considering a law that could allow authorities to fully cut off access to the internet to people that download movies illegally from the web. France has recently passed a law as a result but has yet to implement it. Civil liberties groups are watching legislation closely and therefore are wary that this measure might go too far.

While these laws are made to protect a market industry from falling in value, again we need to point to illegal drugs as an mirror to movie piracy. The problem with drugs aren't small time dealers who're trying to make an income when they do not know any other way nevertheless the large suppliers and drug cartels who allow them to have the drugs inside first place. Movie downloaders are the same way. The problem mustn't be the people who watch movies online for free but those that pirate the flicks and put them on the internet inside first place. Cut off the head along with the body dies.

In late March of 2010, The Hollywood Reporter posted a special article stating that the US Copyright Group has sued a lot more than 20,000 torrent users for illegal piracy of movies. Another lawsuit is forthcoming that targets over 30,000 users for five particular movie titles. It appears the film marketplace is not taking this lightly.

New Formats

Blu-Ray discs as well as the new 3-D format might help to tackle the piracy problem in their own way. If a movie is being touted as only able to be noticed in 3-D then it would be tougher to get a copy of it straight away from a camera version taken inside the movie theater. The DVD will be the only way to watch it.

Another way to combat piracy would be to make online services like Netflix cheaper. What you would lose in price could be made up for in volume. Perhaps making movie ticket prices just a little cheaper would help too. There are all kinds of things the film industry can perform in order to combat piracy that has nothing to do with filing a case.

For many of these measures being delivered to sue those who break the law there are always sites like YouTube that frequently can't get caught up with illegal downloads. Episodes of tv shows, movies, and more can be found on sites like YouTube, Veoh, and LiveVideo all at no cost. Until those websites could be more vigilant about eliminating copyrighted content then men and women continue to view pirated videos.

On the whole, movie piracy is bad for that film industry because they lose money. The problem then becomes when they can stem the piracy problem will movie ticket prices actually go lower? Will online viewing services including NetFlix lower their prices if your movie companies are recouping all this money? There has got to be a give-and-take attitude relating to this problem. There has have got to be some incentive for users to wish to pay for a show. Spending money is obviously good for your economy even if it means spending money on enjoying a motion picture.

Another factor to consider will be the current state with the economy. People are still hurting financially and will want to get things at no cost or little cost as long as possible. When that carrot goes away then this movie industry must accommodate lure those customers to seeing movies otherwise the movie piracy problem will just acquire more creative instead of go away.
